Not A Problem, Gerindra Values The Establishment Of The KIB Coalition No Need To Debate
JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party also responded to the formation of the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) which was initiated by the general chairman of the Golkar Party, PAN, and PPP.
The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, assessed that the formation of KIB was not a problem that needed to be debated. According to him, the formation of a coalition has a good purpose and deserves appreciation.
"What the three colleagues from the Golkar, PPP, and PAN parties have done, I don't think, is something that needs to be debated. Because in a democracy, coalitions are legal and have good goals," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, 17 May.
"Whatever Golkar, PAN, and PPP have done, we should appreciate it because it means that these 3 parties are ready for the legislative and presidential elections," he continued.
Although the chairman of Golkar, Airlangga Hartarto, also serves as the Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Dasco thinks it has nothing to do with the ministry's duties. The PPP chairman, Suharso Monoarfa, is also the Minister of National Development Planning/Bappenas.
Dasco said the formation of the coalition was a political move. So there's nothing to complain about.
"I think that what Mr. Airlangga did as minister as well as party leader was a political move to represent his political party. So it has nothing to do with the ministry's duties and does not need to be debated," said the Deputy Speaker of the DPR for the Coordination of Finance.
