Bali Prepares 5 Referral Hospitals For G20 Delegates
DENPASAR - The Bali Provincial Government has prepared five referral hospitals to handle the emergency conditions of the delegates who will attend the G20 Indonesia Presidency event in November 2022 on the "Island of the Gods".
"The selection of the five hospitals, apart from being experienced, is also close to the location of the G20 meeting," said Head of the Bali Provincial Health Office, Dr dr I Nyoman Gede Anom in Denpasar, Monday, May 16.
The five referral hospitals are Sanglah Hospital, Bali Mandara Hospital, Siloam Hospital, BIMC Nusa Dua Hospital, and State University Hospital (PTN) Udayana University.
"All the personnel and infrastructure are ready. So far, there are no additional facilities, because the existing ones are sufficient," he continued, quoted by Antara.
The Bali Provincial Health Office regularly monitors the readiness of the referral hospital and reports to the Ministry of Health.
"Later on during the simulation, the Ministry of Health will also see it directly," he said.
In addition to the readiness of the referral hospital, he said that every hotel where the meeting will be held will also be equipped with a mini ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and a full range of specialist doctors, supported by sophisticated equipment.
"Among them are internal medicine specialists, surgeons, cardiologists, and anesthesiologists," he said.
In addition, a complete ambulance was prepared to assist delegates who in certain cases needed further assistance to a referral hospital.
Previously, the Head of Health Services (Yankes) of the Bali Provincial Health Office, Dr. Kadek Iwan Darmawan, added that apart from the G20 meeting location, every hotel where the heads of state stayed would also be equipped with a mini ICU.
"This includes the location of the G20 'gala dinner' (dinner) which will be equipped with a mini ICU," he said.
Regarding the treatment mechanism for the G20 delegates who need health services, he said mild cases will be handled at the meeting location which is equipped with a mini ICU.
"When there are cases of illness that are being referred to the nearest hospital, namely BIMC Nusa Dua and PTN Unud Hospital, then when the disease is classified as moderate, you can go to Siloam Hospital and Bali Mandara Hospital," he said.
When cases are severe or critical, he said, they must be taken to Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar City, which is indeed a referral center hospital.
