Kemendikbudristek The Value Of The Film Industry Is Starting To Rise, These Are The Indications

JAKARTA - The film industry is one of the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. But now, Indonesian cinema is now starting to rise.

This was conveyed by the Coordinator of the Film Appreciation and Literacy Working Group at the Directorate of Film, Music and Media of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Edi Suwardi, in Garut Regency, West Java, Monday, May 16.

"Nowadays, many new films have been shown, it is nearing the end of the epidemic, people are getting more and more homesick for cinemas, which have now started to open," said Edi Suwardi, as reported by Antara.

According to him, Kemendikbudristek assesses that the film industry in Indonesia has started to bounce back because it has been proven that a number of films have been shown in cinemas, such as the film "KKN di Desa Penari", then "Gara-Gara Heritage", and several other films.

According to him, a number of films by the nation's children that were shown in cinemas had shown that the film industry in Indonesia had risen, and their works were welcomed by many audiences.

"Films that are shown in cinemas have a lot of viewers, it means that people have appreciated our nation's films," he said.

He hopes that Indonesian films will continue to rise and provide entertainment, education, and other moral messages that have values to build a better national character.

"Hopefully, our films will continue to appear, we will introduce the richness of our culture," he said.

He added that the Ministry of Education and Culture will continue to encourage the film industry and socialize it to the public so that they love and feel proud of domestic film works.

One of the film socialization activities to the public, he said, was by holding a group viewing of films in the open field which was held in a number of areas, including in Garut Regency.

"Just this month we held two viewing events together in Garut, one in Cikajang, and the other in Banyuresmi, how do we introduce film to the public, because this is the work of the nation's children, the work of Indonesian film culture," he said.
