Prevent PMK In NTT Livestock Barns, Veterinarians From All Over Kupang Will Be Gathered
KUPANG - The Livestock Service Office of Kupang Regency will gather all officers from veterinarians, extension workers to livestock medical personnel to discuss efforts to anticipate the spread of PMK disease. The main thing is to monitor all livestock movements in all areas.
"The Kupang Regency Government has certainly taken anticipatory efforts, because the transmission of mouth and nail diseases experienced by livestock is very fast," said Head of the Kupang Regency Livestock Service, Alexander Oktovianus Matte when contacted in Kupang, quoted by Antara, Sunday 15 May.
He added that his party was also tightening supervision at the entrance and exit to prevent the transmission of FMD to livestock in Kupang.
According to him, anticipatory efforts are carried out as quickly as possible because Kupang Regency is a livestock barn district in the province of NTT.
He said that he would immediately form a task force for controlling the spread of nail-mouth disease (PMK) in livestock so that it can detect early if it is known that there are cattle, cattle and buffalo suffering from FMD.
He said that currently there have been no cases of livestock suffering from FMD so that the anticipation of supervision at the entrances has become more stringent.
"Supervision must be stricter because Kupang Regency is still intensively conducting artificial insemination, the results are very encouraging, so if there is a transmission, it can have a wide impact on livestock businesses in this area," said Oktovianus Matte.
