Travel Car Mode Robber In Brebes Arrested, While On The Journey Victim Was Smothered And Held By A Screwdriver To The Chest

PURWOKERTO - Banyumas City Resort Police, Central Java revealed a case of a car travel robbery that occurred in Waled Village, Cirebon Regency, West Java, with the victim being a homecomer from Brebes Regency, Central Java.

"After we received information related to the incident, the Resmob Unit of the Banyumas Police immediately moved to arrest three people suspected of being the perpetrators of the robbery on Friday, May 13", said Banyumas Police Chief, Commissioner Edy Suranta Sitepu, as quoted by Antara, Saturday, May 14.

The three suspected robbers have the initials NP (30) and DA (26), residents of Grumbul Karet, Sumpiuh Village, Sumpiuh District, Banyumas, and MK (18), residents of Kradenan Village, Sumpiuh District, Banyumas.

The Banyumas Police have also coordinated with the Cirebon Police and obtained information about the robbery or the crime of theft with violence.

"We have coordinated with the Cirebon Police where the incident took place, then we have secured the perpetrators to the Banyumas Police to undergo an examination before being handed over to the Cirebon Police for further investigation", he asserted.

Meanwhile, Banyumas Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, Commissioner Agus Supriadi, said that the travel car mode robbery case in Cirebon was not only carried out by the three perpetrators but also involved the Tegal army.

It is known that the robbers persuaded potential victims who wanted to go to Jakarta to join the travel car with black number plates (dark travel) that they were carrying.

The perpetrators operated at the Sinar Jaya Bus stop in Brebes on Wednesday, May 11. The perpetrator with the initials AD managed to persuade a prospective passenger known as Riyanto to join the dark travel car that was ready to go in that direction.

After the travel car traveled for approximately two hours or when it entered the Waled area, AD together with three colleagues consisting of NP, DA, and MK launched their action by smothering the victim's neck and pointing a screwdriver at his chest.

Furthermore, the victim's hands and feet were tied with rope and brown duct tape. The perpetrator also taped the victim's mouth so as not to scream for help.

The robbers immediately took the victim's belongings such as cell phones and money stored in the wallet.

The victim, who was still tied up, was removed from the car and left in front of an empty shop.

"Today, we have handed over the three perpetrators who were arrested in the Banyumas area to the Cirebon Police to undergo further investigate with the location of the case", said Commissioner Agus.
