76-year-old Grandfather Who Fished Early In The Morning Was Found Dead In Rawa Pening Semarang

JAKARTA - It was reported that Suparin drowned while fishing in Rawa Pening, Semarang Regency, in the early hours of Friday, May 13. The body of a resident of Candisari Hamlet, Banyubiru was found at noon.

Head of the Semarang City Search and Rescue Office, Heru Suhartanto, said the 76-year-old grandfather had reportedly set off to catch fish by boat.

"At around 05.30 WIB, residents found the boat used by the victim," he said in a press release in Semarang, citing Antara, Friday, May 13.

Around the boat, only the caping and the victim's flashlight were found. "It is suspected that the victim slipped and then fell," he said.

The SAR team, who received the report of the incident, then dispatched a team to start searching.

The search for victims was carried out by sweeping and diving methods.

He said the victim's body was finally found on Friday afternoon in a dead condition. "The victim's body was then immediately taken to the funeral home for burial," he said.
