Joan Mir Opens Opportunity To Join Respol Honda: I'm Not Afraid To Be Intimidated By Marc Marquez

JAKARTA - Suzuki Ecstar racer, Joan Mir, is increasingly heating up rumors of a move to Repsol Honda. The 2020 MotoGP champion admitted that he was not afraid to take the opportunity to become Marc Marquez's duet partner next season.

Rumors of Joan Mir's move to Repsol Honda have heated up since Suzuki Ecstar has reportedly withdrawn from MotoGP starting next season.

The Repsol Honda manager, Alberto Puig, has even asked Pol Espargaro to find a new team. The reason is that the place for the Spaniard will be given to Joan Mir.

However, many doubt that Joan Mir can succeed at Repsol Honda. The reason is, there is still the figure of Marc Marquez, the favorite child of the Japanese manufacturer team.

It's no secret, the racer who became a tandem with Marc Marquez seemed to have lost his prestige. Starting from Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo to the last Pol Espargaro.

Joan Mir admits, Marc Marquez is one of the great racers in MotoGP history. However, he is not afraid if he has to partner with Marquez at Repsol Honda.

"Do I have some considerations about being a partner with Marc Marquez? Obviously not. Marc doesn't intimidate me," he said.

"No, Marc Marquez is not scary to me," continued Joan Mir in an exclusive interview with Speedweek.
