After Lebaran 2022, Immigrants In Karawang Are Asked To Report To RT Or RW

KARAWANG - The Department of Population and Civil Registration (Disdukcapil) of Karawang Regency, West Java, appealed to migrants to report to the head of the local RT/RW to immediately take care of population administration.

"We urge immigrants to immediately arrange for a letter of domicile so that they can carry out their activities smoothly in Karawang," said Head of the Disdukcapil of Karawang Regency, Bambang Susetyo, in Karawang, Wednesday, May 11.

Basically, he said, every citizen is free to settle or live anywhere because the ID card is national.

However, there are special provisions for residents who are newcomers, in which they must report to the head of the local RT/RW and immediately arrange a letter of domicile so that population administration can be more orderly.

"After this Eid, we will optimize population administration services at the Disdukcapil office," he said.

Reflecting on previous years, he said, after Lebaran the number of immigrants always increased in Karawang.

He estimates that after Lebaran this year, thousands of Karawang residents will enter and are likely to settle temporarily in the local area.

Therefore, his party will optimize services regarding population administration. "On the first day of work alone, there are 60 migrants who have reported moving," he said.
