Entering The Dry Season, These Are 15 Sub-districts In Jakarta That Are Prone To Clean Water Crisis
JAKARTA - The Chief Executive of the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Isnawa Adji said that there are 15 sub-districts in Jakarta that are prone to drought during the dry season.
This data, said Isnawa, has been mapped by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) since 2019 and no changes have been made.
"When referring to the meteorological drought early warning issued by the BMKG in 2019, there are 15 sub-districts that are included in areas prone to drought," Isnawa told reporters, Wednesday, April 11.
The sub-districts are spread over four administrative cities. In North Jakarta, it is spread out in Cilincing, Tanjung Priok, Koja, Kelapa Gading, and Penjaringan sub-districts. In Central Jakarta, it is spread out in Menteng, Gambir, Kemayoran, and Tanah Abang sub-districts.
In South Jakarta, it is spread over the Tebet, Pasar Minggu and Setiabudi sub-districts. In East Jakarta, it is spread out in Makasar, Pulogadung, and Cipayung sub-districts.
In addition, Isnawa said that areas that have not been served by the clean water pipeline network also need to be watched out for, such as in Jagakarsa District, Pasar Minggu, and parts of Cilandak District.
"BPBD will continue to monitor the development of meteorological conditions in entering this dry season. Special teams can be activated at any time in the event of a drought that has a direct impact on the community. Therefore, we continue to strengthen synergy and coordination between OPD and stakeholders in anticipating this," he explained. Meanwhile, the BMKG previously issued an early warning related to the beginning of the dry season phase which began to hit parts of the country in May.
The beginning of the dry season is marked by the phenomenon of hot air temperatures that occur during the day, which is triggered by the apparent position of the sun which is in the north of the equator.
This phenomenon is also followed by the growth of clouds and the phenomenon of rain which will be greatly reduced, so that sunny weather in the morning before noon will be quite dominant.
