Elementary Level Exams Still Held Even Though Demonstration Against DOB Occurs In 3 Points In Jayapura City

PAPUA - The implementation of examinations at the elementary school level in Jayapura City is still being carried out despite demonstrations against the establishment of a New Autonomous Region (DOB) in Papua.

Based on field observations, demonstrations against DOB occurred at several points in Jayapura City, namely the Abepura Circle, Waena Expo, and Perumnas Tiga.

However, the implementation of the examination in elementary schools (SD) on the second day, is still carried out face-to-face while anticipating security disturbances.

Meanwhile, some shops in the area are still closed. However, the security forces are still keeping watch at points where the demonstrators gather.

Until now, the situation after the mass disbandment, the economic activity of the people in Jayapura City has started to run smoothly.

The head of the Kalam Kudus Elementary School in Jayapura City, Sutriyanto Budiman, said that his party has accelerated the exam time for children from 07.30-12.00 WIT to 07.00-11.30 WIT.

"The exam is still running, it's just that we speed up the time," he said as quoted by Antara.

In an effort to anticipate the occurrence of security disturbances during the demonstration against the DOB, the Jayapura City Police prepared 1,181 personnel.
