Residents Of Jakarta Crowded Puncak-Cipanas Healing Lebaran Holidays To Severe Traffic Jams, Hotel Occupancy Rate Reaches 75 Percent
CIANJUR - The Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) in Cianjur, West Java, noted an increase in hotel occupancy or occupancy during the Eid holiday by up to 75 percent, compared to the previous year.
Chairman of PHRI Cianjur, Nano Indra Praja said occupancy has increased since a few days before the holiday in line with the easing of activities by the government.
"Occupancy has been seen to increase during the second week of fasting until one week after Eid. Most of the immigrants are from various regions in Jabodetabek. During the holiday, most of the hotel rooms in Puncak-Cipanas are booked up to 1,200 rooms," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, 9. May.
His party ensured that the easing of activities and an increase in hotel occupancy could boost the economy in the Cianjur area, because economic activity during the pandemic had slumped.
Markom Manager of Le Eminance Hotel Cipanas, Rizki Sutrisna, said that during the Eid holiday period, 75 percent of the occupancy of the hundreds of available hotel rooms had been filled.
"The increase was quite high, after the second holiday, hundreds of available rooms were fully occupied. But if you look at last year's comparison, the increase reached 75 percent," he said.
The same thing was said by the Manager of Baidyl Hotel Cianjur, Oos, who ensured that of the 100 rooms available during the long holiday, 75 of them had been booked for three days before Eid until D+5 Eid.
This condition has never happened before during the COVID-19 pandemic where hotel bookings were low, especially during the Lebaran period of the last two years.
"A maximum of 10 to 15 rooms were booked during Eid two years ago, but this year, 75 rooms have been filled before and after the holiday. We hope that the number of visits will remain stable and increase after the holiday," he said.
