KCI Evaluates KRL Travel Needs During The Transitional PSBB Period

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) operates 933 KRL trips every day with 91 train series ready to serve Commuter Line users by prioritizing health protocols, until Monday, October 12 morning.

KCI is still evaluating KRL trips after the DKI Jakarta area has re-entered the Transitional PSBB period and public transportation can operate with more flexible operating hours.

On the first day of the Transitional PSBB period, October 12, the number of KRL users until 07.00 WIB was recorded at 70,634 people. This number increased 7 percent over the same time on Monday, October 5.

Stations that recorded an increase in the number of users include Bogor Station: 6,719 users, up 20 percent compared to last week, Bekasi Station: 3,817 users, up 6 percent, and Depok Station: 3,312 users, up 10 percent.

Even so, several stations noted that the number of users had decreased, for example Rangkasbitung Station: 2,262 users, a decrease of 5 percent.

Even though there was an increase, the situation at the station this morning was relatively conducive with queues and insulation arranged by officers so that physical distancing among users was maintained.

The trend in user volume this morning is also one of KCI's considerations in evaluating the planned KRL trip operation patterns during the current PSBB Transition. If it is deemed necessary to extend the KRL operating hours, then KCI will inform the change as soon as possible.

VP Corporate Communications of PT KCI Anne Purba urged users to be prepared to bring additional equipment when going outside to face the rainy season, including raincoats or umbrellas, and wear non-slippery shoes.

| Also remember to check the daily weather forecast before the move. The weather forecast can be seen on twitter @commuterline every morning, as well as on various social media accounts and on the website of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), "he said.

In order for KRL users to return to their productive and safe activities on the morning of the Transitional PSBB, KCI continues to strictly implement various health protocols at stations and in the KRL area.

"All users are required to use a mask that is proven to be effective in preventing droplets , or fluids that come out of the mouth and nose. Users are also required to maintain a distance, follow body temperature measurements, and it is highly recommended to wash hands with running water and soap before and after boarding the train. Thank you for the support and cooperation of all KRL users in a joint effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19, "said Anne.
