The Peak Of Traffic Jams, 40 Thousand Motorbikes And 50 Thousand Cars Were Recorded
BOGOR - As many as 40 thousand motorcycles and 50 thousand four-wheeled vehicles entered the Puncak, Ciawi-Megamendung route.
Bogor Police Chief AKBP Imanuddin stated that the volume of vehicles had increased by 40 percent compared to the second day of the Idul Fitri holiday, Tuesday, May 3.
Therefore, he said, to break down the density since 07.30 WIB, a situational one-way traffic flow system has been implemented and directs tourists from Jakarta to pass a number of alternative routes around Puncak.
"We have continued to coordinate with the Bogor City Police, Cianjur Police to anticipate the effects of using one way," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 4.
He has also prepared alternative routes around the summit, including directions and officers on these alternative routes.
Road users seem to mostly be traveling in Puncak, such as traveling to villas, hotels, or Taman Safari Indonesia.
There are also motorists who claim to want to go home to Cianjur. After the rest of the vehicles leading to Puncak are fully flowing, the one-way system to Jakarta will be implemented alternately.
"Currently we are implementing a 'one way' to Jakarta. Because earlier the tail that led to the Peak was exhausted at Simpang Gadog," said Iman.
However, the increasing volume of vehicles from Jakarta until 11.00 WIB has made a number of points on the route to Puncak experiencing congestion.
Congestion occurred, among others, after the Ciawi toll gate to the Gadog intersection.
The Bogor Police Chief explained that now he no longer applies the odd-even rule around the peak of Bogor, considering the volume of vehicles.
Odd-even can be reinstated if traffic flow allows the vehicle to be turned around.
Countercurrent
In addition to the increasing volume of vehicles, a number of causes for congestion are the number of motorists resting on the shoulder of the road right in front of the souvenir sales center, as well as queuing at the Public Fuel Filling Station.
There are also traffic jams caused by motorists getting in and out of vehicles at every intersection as well as community activities at the market.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday (4/5) the road leading to the Ciawi toll gate was also observed to be densely crawling.
At the discretion of the police, Jasa Marga Metropolitan Tollroad (JMT) has imposed a counter-flow or counter-flow since 06.30 WIB to break down congestion.
Motorists who want to go to Puncak Bogor are also diverted out of the South Bogor Toll Gate to break up the congestion.
