Governor Anies Promises Gembrong Market Development Can Make Residents Have A New Lifestyle

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan promised that the revitalization of the Gembrong Market area, East Jakarta will be carried out starting next week.

He conveyed this while visiting the victims of the fire in the market on Tuesday, May 3. He said collaboration with a number of related parties will be carried out in this revitalization effort.

"God willing, the revitalization of this area will be carried out in a relay starting next week by holding coordination and collaboration involving various parties," Anies said as quoted from his official Instagram account @aniesbaswedan on Wednesday, May 4.

This collaboration will involve Basnas Bazis DKI, Forkompinda, to the private sector. In addition, Anies also ensured that affected residents were also involved in this process.

"We want them to voice their aspirations and explain the need for revitalization of the area," said the former Minister of Education and Culture.

Furthermore, Anies said there are a number of things that are prioritized in the process of revitalizing the Gembrong Market area. One of them is by prioritizing buildings that are in accordance with the contours of the area and are environmentally friendly according to the needs of the residents.

In addition, the DKI Provincial Government will also fulfill the availability of light fire extinguishing equipment so that fire events can be avoided. "In the future, we will also assist residents to understand the concept of a healthy and beautiful environment," said Anies.

"Such as sanitation, lighting, availability of infiltration wells, disaster mitigation and environmental management factors," he continued.

With these efforts, it is hoped that fire victims can immediately occupy better housing.

"When they occupy an area that has been revitalized, they have new lifestyles and habits, especially to prevent similar incidents from happening again," he concluded.
