JAKARTA - The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, cannot contain happiness. This Eid, he was able to return to carry out Eid prayers with the community.
In the midst of a sea of people numbering tens of thousands of people, Ganjar Pranowo this morning performed the Eid prayer at Pancasila Square, Simpang Lima, Semarang, Monday 2 May.
"The atmosphere was extraordinary, we postponed five minutes because of the enthusiasm of the people who had run around, of course the atmosphere was very encouraging," said Ganjar Pranowo a few moments after performing the Eid prayer, according to a written statement from the Central Java Provincial Government.
Ganjar said, the preacher in his sermon conveyed a deep message about Islam "rahmatan lil alamin" and could be shown by not spreading hoaxes and maintaining unity by giving good values.
"Masha Allah, this is something that I think is extraordinary that can be heard after two years. We cannot attend Eid prayers in congregation like this and of course it makes all of us happy," said Ganjar.
The Governor of Central Java saw the implementation of the Eid prayer at the Simpang Lima Pancasila Square running smoothly and most of the people also seemed to comply with health protocols by wearing masks.
Furthermore, Ganjar advised the public to maintain health protocols when carrying out the Eid ritual, namely visiting relatives.
"Always wear a mask, definitely after this we will go on a picnic, definitely after this I will visit my family. I leave a message to keep the health protocol, the simplest thing is to wear a mask," he said.
