Obeying The Circular Of The Minister Of Religion, Kulon Progo Police Bans Residents From Holding Mobile Takbirs
JAKARTA – Observing the ongoing pandemic conditions, the Kulon Progo Resort Police, Yogyakarta Special Region, forbids residents from holding mobile takbiran on Eid in 2022. This is done to follow the Circular Letter of the Minister of Religion Number 08 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri Worship.
Kulon Progo Police Chief AKBP Muharomah Fajarini in Kulon Progo, Sunday, appealed to the public to announce the Eid al-Fitr takbir enough to be held in mosques, prayer rooms or in their respective homes.
"We hope that the public can comply with the circular for the common good during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has not ended yet. The traveling takbir is one of the government's efforts to suppress the spread of COVID-19," Fajarini said, as quoted by Antara.
He said the traveling takbir can trigger a crowd of people. He also invited residents to celebrate Eid, but don't be too euphoric, still obey health protocols to avoid exposure to COVID-19.
"We invite the public to celebrate Eid by increasing tolerance between religious communities, maintaining morals and honing social care, always praying to create an atmosphere of harmony, peace and togetherness in the Kulon Progo region," Fajarini said.
Fajarini also hopes that the entire Kulon Progo community will jointly maintain security and social order, increase awareness of various crimes that may occur, such as theft in empty houses left by the residents, circulation of counterfeit money in crowded places, or other forms of crime.
He also appealed to the public to adhere to health protocols even though the COVID-19 pandemic continues to improve. Nevertheless, we remain vigilant and always comply with health protocols both in places of worship and in other places.
"For residents who have not followed the complete vaccination until the booster vaccine, I invite them to immediately visit the vaccine outlets that have been prepared," he said.
The Head of Public Relations of the Kulon Progo Police, Iptu I Nengah Jeffry, invited the public to celebrate Eid in a peaceful, safe and solemn manner even though there was no takbir around.
"We understand that people are doing takbir around, but we still have to be aware of the COVID-19 pandemic. Let's continue to obey health protocols, and for residents who have not been vaccinated, come immediately to vaccine outlets provided by the regional government," he urged.
