Break Through To The Finals 3 Times In A Row, Jonathan Christie: There Is God's Intervention
JAKARTA - Indonesian men's singles, Jonatan Christie, stepped into the final of the 2022 Asian Badminton Championships. The ticket to the final was won after Jojo defeated his compatriot, Chicho Aura Dwi Wardoyo, with a score of 21-9, 18-21, and 21-16.
This is Jonathan Christie's third final in a row. Previously, he also reached the final of the Swiss Open 2022 and Korea Open 2022.
"This result for me is actually not only the result of my hard work, there is also God's intervention and the role of the coach for sure. Coach Irwansyah has really trained me and the men's singles team with quite good quality," said Jonatan Christie, on the official website PBSI.
"So, before the German Open, we had one and a half months of training in a method that I think is quite good. Hopefully this good training will be accompanied by similar results," he continued.
Regarding the result of the match against Chico, this 24-year-old player said that the actual field conditions matched the character of the opponent's game. He had been alert from the start of the game.
"I try to reduce the attack on him," said Jojo.
In the final round, Jonatan Christie was waiting for Malaysia's representative, Lee Zii Jia. In terms of meeting records, Indonesia's single is more favored with a score of 4-1 in the previous five matches.
