Demak Police Securs 40 Kilograms Of Firecracker Powder, Perpetrators Threatened With Imprisonment

DEMAK - Demak Police, Central Java, seized 40 kilograms of firecracker powder and arrested two people from Turitempel Village, Demak, for producing firecracker powder.

"We also detained the two residents of Turitempel Village, Guntur District, Demak, namely Ab (22) and R (35), related to allegations of violating Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 regarding firecrackers," said Demak Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Budi Adhy Buono. quoted by Antara, Saturday, April 30.

The two perpetrators were arrested on Friday (29/4), while making firecracker powder on an empty land in Turitempel Village, Guntur District, Demak Regency.

Apart from Ab and R, there are three other suspects in the manufacture of firecracker powder, namely AS, MK, and MR, who are still wanted by officers.

The three people fled when they learned that officers had arrived at the location where the firecrackers were made.

The disclosure of the case, he said, began with public reports regarding the alleged production of firecracker powder in the local area.

To confirm this information, the police were dispatched to the location, then arrested one perpetrator with the initials Ab who was lifting firecracker powder.

One day later, he arrested another perpetrator with the initials R and secured evidence of firecracker powder.

From the arrests of the perpetrators, the police secured evidence in the form of a motorbike, 40 kilograms of firecracker powder, one scale, two large buckets, two rice ladles, one pair of scissors, one plate and one small funnel.

The perpetrators will be charged with Article 1 of the Emergency Law No. 12/1951 with a maximum threat of 20 years in prison.
