Spanish MotoGP: Francesco Bagnaia Takes Pole Position, Mario Aji Starts From Behind

JAKARTA - Lenovo's Ducati rider, Francesco Bagnaia, won the Spanish MotoGP pole position after being the fastest in the qualifying session, Saturday, April 30. This is the first pole position for the Italian rider.

Bagnaia carved the fastest lap time of 1 minute 36.170 seconds. He outperformed the Yamaha MotoGP racer, Fabio Quartararo, who was 0.453 seconds apart.

The top five positions are complemented by Aleix Espargaro, Jack Miller, and Marc Marquez.

Incidents have colored the beginning of qualifying. Pramac Ducati rider, Jorge Martin, fell so the yellow flag was raised. Joan Mir then posted the fastest time of 1 minute 37.616 seconds with 10 minutes remaining.

Pecco Bagnaia and Fabio Quartararo then took turns being the racers with the fastest time. Quartararo's time of 1 minute 36.790 seconds lasted until the final five minutes of the Spanish MotoGP qualifying.

Bagnaia finally displaced Quartararo's position with a score of 1 minute 36.170 seconds when the last three minutes of qualifying were left.

Mario Aji 27th Start

Meanwhile, Indonesian racer Mario Aji got bad results in the Spanish Moto3 qualification.

Izan Guevara successfully won the pole position, while the Indonesian racer, Mario Aji, had to start racing at the bottom. The Honda Team Asia racer had to start the race from the 27th starting position.

In the first qualifying session, Mario Aji started the race by starting in 12th position. Seeing his position, there is a chance to be able to reach the top four in order to qualify directly for the second qualification.

Unfortunately at the last minute, Mario Aji failed to sharpen his record time.
