Korlantas: Rest Area And Lane Narrowing Cause Traffic Jams At KM 57, KM 80-102 Cikampek Toll Road
JAKARTA - The Traffic Corps of the Police stated that the cause of congestion on the homecoming route of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road to the Cikampek-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road was due to the slowdown at a number of rest area gates and the narrowing of the lane from the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road entering the Cipali toll road.
"Spots that affect the density are rest area 57, rest area 80, to 102. So it causes a slowdown at the entrance to the rest area," said Director of Law Enforcement of the Traffic Corps of the Police Brigadier General Aan Suhanan at Jatijajar Terminal, Depok, West Java, as reported by Antara, Thursday. , April 28.
Aan said the slowdown was due to the queue of vehicles wanting to enter the rest area, which had an impact on the density of vehicles behind it.
In addition, the narrowing of the road from four lanes on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road to two lanes on the Cipali toll road also causes vehicle slowdown and congestion.
Aan hopes that travelers will be patient because overcrowding is inevitable. He explained that his party continues to carry out traffic engineering both on arterial roads and on toll roads to facilitate traffic flow.
"Follow the instructions and directions of the officers in the field. We are not forcing you not to go to the rest area, but our colleagues who are behind have slowed down and jammed as a result of the slowdown in the rest area," he said.
On Thursday, the police began implementing "one way" and odd-even traffic engineering from Jakarta to the east starting at 17.00 WIB.
Previously, the police had also implemented contraflow to the east because the density of vehicles had begun to occur since Wednesday (27/4) night.
