Homecoming Flow, Passengers At Pulo Gebang Terminal Experience A 30 Percent Increase

JAKARTA - The number of passengers going home through the Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal, East Jakarta has increased by 30 percent compared to Sunday, April 24.

"As of yesterday, if we compare it with Sunday, April 24, it has increased by about 30 percent, yes," said the Head of the TU UP Sub-section. Junaedi East Jakarta's Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal, when met at his office, Wednesday.

The Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal UP recorded the number of passengers as of Tuesday, April 26, reaching 1,757 with an increase of 30 percent compared to Sunday, April 24, which amounted to 1,372 passengers.

This increase, continued Junaedi, is the highest achievement and quite significant compared to normal days before the Lebaran homecoming flow. On normal days the number of passengers departing through the Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal is around 900 passengers and rises to 1,200 passengers on weekends.

"From Thursday-Sunday it seems to have gone up, but last Monday it decreased slightly to 700 passengers, maybe because it's Monday and I haven't been off work," he said.

While the prediction of the number of passengers on Wednesday, Junaedi estimates it will revolve around the number of passengers on Tuesday. This is because as of Wednesday afternoon the number of passengers has only reached 566 passengers.

"If you look at the current trend, it's only 600, today's 1,500, yes, it's similar to yesterday's 1,700," he said.

Furthermore, Junaedi estimates that the peak of the homecoming flow at the Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal will occur on Friday 29 April with the number of passengers reaching 2,500 to 3,000 passengers.

To anticipate the boom in passengers, his party claimed to have appealed to the owners of the Otobus Company (PO) to add more buses.

"Tickets on the 26th were sold out yesterday, so they can prepare backups such as buses that have not been running so far or additional buses from tourism," said Junaedi.
