Again, Honda Car Consumers Get Trapped By Naughty Sales, Overlapping

TANGERANG SELATAN - Fraud and embezzlement of consumers' money are often soft grounds for car sales. In addition to what happened at the Honda MT Haryono, there was also a similar case at the Honda Permata Serpong.

The action of the perpetrators this time is called overlapping, a term in sales circles which means asking consumers to transfer to a sales personal account and then use the money for personal gain.

The victim with the initials BE who is domiciled in Pamulang, South Tangerang, complained about the treatment of one of the Honda Permata Serpong salespeople on Jalan Boulevard Gading Serpong, Tangerang Regency who made sales in October 2021. At that time BE received services from a salesman named David, a resident of Karawaci.

The victim said that the incident began when he visited the Honda Permata Serpong dealer to see the new Honda unit on October 24, 2021.

“At that time I was served by a man named David. I put my trust in him because at that time he was wearing the Honda uniform. I believe. Instead, David asked me to transfer some of the down payment to his personal account. I was not aware that there was an appeal from Honda Permata not to transfer to a personal account. But David, who at that time carried the Honda name, should have good intentions towards consumers." explained the victim when contacted, Tuesday, April 26.

BE again explained that he had made transfers to the Honda Permata Serpong account several times as an official channel. However, he admitted that he also made a transfer to David's account at David's request, which at that time he called the DP car loan payment.

Although the car unit finally got off and arrived, the victim did the transfer process of funds exceeding the total agreed down payment.

"The difference is 10 million. And David has admitted it over the phone to me. He apologized and plans to return it, but so far there has been no good faith." obviously the victim.

"I'm disappointed with David, because Honda's name is so big, it can be tarnished just because of him doing overlapping. I put my trust in Honda, but I actually experienced something like this," said BEP, when contacted, Tuesday, April 26.

“I have not reported this to the police because I am still waiting for David's goodwill. I gave him my trust because at that time David was wearing a Honda shirt." he continued.

In addition to the embezzled money, the victim also admitted that until now he had not received an official Honda book that was used as a reference for engine maintenance and periodic repair reports that became the service of Honda Permata Serpong.

Rusdy Darmawan from Honda Permata Hijau, who at that time also played a role in the sales process, assessed that the incident could not be separated from the negligence of the victim.

The reason is, at the time of giving the money, the victim transferred it to a person, not to the company. Even though his party had warned in writing not to give money personally.

"If we really bridge, if it's payment. We have warned that payments cannot be transferred to private persons. We have already said that, we have warned that it is not allowed to be private and he also admits that he transferred it to David," said Rushdy when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, April 26.

“When there was a problem, it turned out that it had something to do with David, when it was confirmed by my office. 'The payment is complete and fits perfectly', the audit was called and the payment was also made, "he added.

However, Rushdy admitted that his party is ready to help if it will be processed by law. He will be willing to be a witness in the case.

Regarding the alleged perpetrator, he said David had been issued since September 2021 yesterday. As a result of the case involving the perpetrator.

"We remove (David) and blacklist from any Honda dealer. Since last September," he said.

Meanwhile, Kelapa Dua Police Chief AKP Tribuana Roseno said that he would serve by bringing supporting evidence for the next process.

"Just complete the evidence, okay? God willing, we will help." said Tribuana Roseno when contacted, Tuesday, April 26.
