Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Asks For Increased Awareness And Alertness In Facing Disasters
JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin asked all families in Indonesia to increase awareness and vigilance in dealing with disasters that may occur throughout the country.
"I hope that the implementation of this year's HKB will further encourage the awareness and vigilance of Indonesian families in facing and surviving in the midst of various disasters, so that they will be able to immediately rise up and recover their lives after the disaster," he said while attending a virtual Disaster Preparedness Day (HKB) in 2022. , in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, April 26.
The vice president conveyed the theme of this year's HKB "Ready to Survive", in accordance with the current situation faced by the Indonesian nation. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the existence of the family as a pillar of national development, especially in realizing disaster-resilient families, to make Indonesia ready for disaster preparedness.
The Vice President assessed that efforts to be prepared for possible disasters that will occur must reach all diverse communities and be instilled from an early age.
He also invited the community to increase the culture of disaster awareness towards a disaster-resilient Indonesia.
"For this reason, I invite all components of the Indonesian nation to participate, and actively participate on Disaster Preparedness Day 2022," he said.
Finally, the Vice President appealed to the public to sound signs simultaneously throughout Indonesia, whether sirens, gongs, or bells, on April 26, 2022 at 10 am local time, as a sign of the start of the self-evacuation simulation exercise, and immediately go to the nearest safe place.
