Masyaallah, English Club Blackburn Rovers Hold Eid Prayers At Ewod Park
JAKARTA – British club Blackburn Rovers made history welcoming Eid this year. They became the first club to allow their pitch to be used for Eid prayers.
Rovers made the announcement of opening Ewood Park Stadium for Eid prayers via social media. It is estimated that there are at least 1000 Muslims can carry out Eid worship in that place
"To celebrate the end of Ramadan, Eid prayers at Ewood Park will be held on the day of Eid, from 9am to 10am," the club said in a statement on their website.
"Over the years, Rovers have sponsored the annual Eid festival at Corporation Park and the club is delighted to further show its support by hosting this year's Eid prayer on the grounds of Ewood Park," they continued.
Eid prayers on the Rovers pitch are part of a series of upcoming Ewood events under the #OneRovers umbrella. This includes Let's Go Sing which takes place on Thursday 28 April and a three-day SummerFest concert in late May.
Eid prayer at Ewood Park is open to the public for both men and women. The committee asked anyone who wanted to pray at the venue to bring their own prayer mat.
Meanwhile, other facilities are provided by the committee free of charge. The free facility is how much free bus transportation from Corporation Park and Queen's Park. Apart from that, they also prepare snacks and drinks.
Rovers is a club that plays in the Championship caste or the English second caste. Currently they are in seventh place in the standings with a collection of 66 points from 44 matches played.
