The Value Of Fuel Misappropriation Reaches IDR 2.4 Billion In Three Months, BPH Migas: Derived From 327 Thousand Liters Of Subsidized Fuel Dioplos
JAKARTA - Head of BPH Migas, Erika Retnowati revealed that the misuse of fuel oil (BBM) that often occurred in the community in the last three months that had been handled by the authorities amounted to Rp. 2.4 billion.
"During the first quarter of 2022, we managed to uncover cases of fraud worth Rp2.4 billion," said Retno at the Energy Corner, Monday, April 25.
He revealed that the high price disparity between subsidized and non-subsidized diesel fuel is one of the causes of fuel abuse in the field. He said that the misappropriation of Rp. 2.4 billion came from 327 thousand liters of subsidized fuel which was mixed up by irresponsible parties.
"We found many cases of violations in the field, such as in South Sumatra there was a large amount of mixing up to 100 tons of fuel, in West Java there was also a stockpiling of diesel fuel as much as 22 tons," he explained.
Not only that, Erika also mentioned that some time ago the police also managed to arrest two residents in Manado City for the case of hoarding 3,000 liters of subsidized diesel. This hoarding uses a truck with a modified tank.
"I thank the National Police who have recently been aggressively taking action to deter the public.
Regarding the sanctions that will be given to people who commit fraud, Erika said that she would impose sanctions on the provisions of Law (UU) No. 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas (Migas) and Article 55 of the Job Creation Act (Ciptaker) with a fine of up to Rp. IDR 60 billion and a criminal sentence of 6 years in prison.
"We also verify the volume every month to apply for a subsidy that will be given by the government. If there is a deviation, the subsidy will not be paid. We will also report to the police so that it will be investigated whether the gas station is involved or not. warning or revoked the permit," concluded Erika.
