JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) asked the Regional Government to participate in supervising the use of 3 Kg Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) so that it remains targeted.

This is stated in the Circular Letter (SE) of the Director General of Oil and Gas (Migas) Tutuka Ariadji Number B-2461/MG.05/DJM/2022 dated March 25, 2022, which is addressed to 29 Governors whose areas have been converted to LPG, namely the Governor Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Jambi, Bengkulu, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, Lampung, DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, Special Region of Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara , West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, South Sulawesi and West Sulawesi.

The Director General of Oil and Gas said that the government provides and distributes 3 kg LPG, where according to the legislation, users of 3 kg LPG based on Article 1 point 5 of Presidential Decree No. 104 of 2007 concerning the Supply, Distribution and Determination of the Price of 3 Kg Liquefied Petroleum Gas are households and micro business.

Meanwhile, the household group in question is consumers who have resident legality, use kerosene for cooking within the household and do not have gas stoves. Meanwhile for micro-enterprises, namely consumers with productive businesses owned by individuals who have resident legality, use kerosene for cooking within the scope of micro-enterprises and do not have gas stoves.

"We expect the assistance of the Regional Government to supervise the use of 3 Kg LPG as intended, in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws," said Tutuka's message in the SE quoted Saturday, April 23.

Meanwhile, other users of 3 kg LPG based on Article 1 points 3 and 4 of Presidential Decree No. 38 of 2019 concerning the supply, distribution, and determination of the price of LPG 3 Kg Liquefied Petroleum Gas for Fishing Vessels for Target Fishermen and Water Pumping Machines for Farmers. and target farmers.

"Target fishermen are people whose livelihood is catching fish to meet their daily needs who have fishing vessels with a maximum size of 5 gross tons (GT) and use a propulsion engine with a maximum power of 13 Horse Power," he continued.

The Target Farmers are people who have agricultural land with a maximum area of 0.5 hectares, except for transmigrants, who have a maximum agricultural land of 2 hectares and conduct their own food crop or horticulture farming business and have a water pumping machine with a maximum power of 6.5 Horse. Furthermore, in the context of controlling the use of 3 kg LPG, the Director General of Oil and Gas also prohibits LPG consumers, including restaurants, hotels, laundry businesses, batik businesses, livestock businesses, agricultural businesses (outside the provisions of Presidential Decree Number 38 of 2019 and those that have not been converted), tobacco farming and welding service business, using 3 kg LPG which is subsidized LPG.
