Bank Mega Owned By Conglomerate Chairul Tanjung Distributes Basic Foods Worth IDR 2.5 Billion For Less Fortunate Communities
JAKARTA - Chairul Tanjung's conglomerate bank, PT Bank Mega Tbk, provided thousands of food packages worth Rp. 2.5 billion to disadvantaged people living in Bank Mega's network of offices throughout Indonesia.
"This year, Bank Mega provided 19,600 food packages worth more than Rp. 2.5 billion. It is hoped that through the assistance of basic food packages provided by Bank Mega, it can help people in need in meeting their daily needs," said Bank Mega President Director Kostaman Thayib through his written statement, quoted from Antara, Friday, April 22.
Mega Peduli activities, in the form of distributing food packages, have been routinely carried out by Bank Mega since 1996. The distribution of basic food packages is given in the month of Ramadan and is expected to provide benefits in preparation for the Eid al-Fitr.
He said that the Mega Peduli theme for this year's event was "Care and Rise Together".
"The theme was chosen as an expression of concern for others and the spirit to rise together from the impact of the pandemic which is expected to end soon," he said.
He added, in every implementation of Mega Peduli, the company always includes every employee directly in order to foster a sense of concern for others.
According to Kostaman, Bank Mega is growing and growing thanks to the trust from the public, so it has become an obligation for the issuer coded MEGA to always be in the midst of society.
