Minister Of Religion Affirms Booster Vaccination Efforts To Create Healthy-Safe Homecoming
JAKARTA - Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, emphasized that the "One Million Dose Booster Vaccination" movement launched by the Ministry of Religion, Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU), and the National Police was an effort to create a healthy and safe homecoming.
"This vaccination has no other purpose than the government wants to protect its citizens and the most important thing is to be able to go home after the two-year homecoming holiday. You can go home safely, be healthy, those at home are also safe", Yaqut said as reported by Antara, Thursday, April 21.
According to him, the one million booster vaccination program is proof that the government loves its citizens and its citizens love the government. The government provides vaccines, and people volunteer to vaccinate themselves to protect themselves and their families from the threat of COVID-19 when going home later.
Yaqut expressed his gratitude to all relevant parties who contributed to the success of the booster vaccination. Likewise to the community for their participation in this booster program.
The movement for one million doses of booster vaccine was held simultaneously by NU regional administrators, NU branch administrators, several Islamic boarding schools and NU educational institutions, as well as police and police outlets throughout Indonesia.
The Minister of Religion also invited the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion to do the same. "I ask that vaccination activities be held in churches to make vaccination targets successful in Papua", said Yaqut, when greeting the Papua Ministry of Religion's Regional Office.

Meanwhile, National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, said his party did have a one-million-dose vaccination program simultaneously.
However, the National Police Chief said that the vaccination target has recently encountered problems and has decreased. This is because there are people who still have doubts about vaccinating while fasting.
"Before fasting, we could get the target of one million, but after entering Ramadan, that number fell. We face many obstacles, especially the question of whether it is permissible to vaccinate in Ramadan", he said.
The return of achieving the vaccine recipient target, said Listyo, cannot be separated from the synergy with PBNU and the Ministry of Religion in the success of the one million dose booster vaccination program ahead of this Eid.
Meanwhile, General Chairperson of PBNU Yahya Cholil Staquf said the one million booster vaccination program was an effective, fast, and efficient collaboration between PBNU, the National Police, and the Ministry of Religion.
According to him, this booster vaccination will last for the next four days at NU offices, starting from the provincial, district/city, to sub-districts throughout Indonesia.
"This is also a form of inclusive service from Nadhalatul Ulama to all residents. The one million booster vaccination program is also held in houses of worship", said Yahya.
