If You Can't Use Good Methods, The Police Will Use Tear Gas To Disperse The Wild Race In Ambon
AMBON - The Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Police, Commissioner M Roem Ohoirat, said that in order to disperse illegal racing, the police could use tear gas if they could not be disbanded properly.
"If you use tear gas, it's situational. There was no way they were racing, constantly being shot with tear gas. There must be a situation there, the development of how they just fired tear gas shots, that's for sure," he said, at the Maluku Police Headquarters, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, April 16.
He said, in order to create security and public order, illegal racing should be disbanded, especially now that it is in the holy month of Ramadan. "So far, we have taken action several times, by conducting raids. If there is a shortage, we immediately sweep them up, we fine them. So far this has often happened," he said.
He asked the community, especially in families with teenage children, to jointly help maintain security and social order in this month of Ramadan.
"Of course we really hope that the family, let's work together to maintain the sanctity of the month of Ramadan, we are not allowed to do anything, we are not allowed to do things that essentially violate public order," he asked. -Together maintain conducive and safe conditions in Maluku, especially in Ambon, things like illegal racing will continue to happen.
“This means that the security and order situation in the environment is the responsibility of all of us. I believe and believe that no one wants the environment to be noisy with this wild race. But as long as we all let this happen and wait for the police to take action, then what happens is we the police will mess with them," he said.
