Indonesian Basketball Team Wins ABL 3x3 International Champions Cup 2022, More Confidence In Looking At SEA Games Hanoi

JAKARTA - The Indonesian basketball team won the ABL 3x3 International Champions Cup 2022 tournament in Bali, April 16-17. This success made the team's confidence even better ahead of the Hanoi SEA Games.

The winning trophy was won by the Indonesian team consisting of Surliyadin, Sandy Ibrahom, Oki Wira Sanjaya and Jamarr Andre Johnson, after beating Malaysia 21-15 in the final round. Besides Malaysia, Indonesia also met Vietnam and Cambodia in this tournament.

Secretary General of PP Perbasi, Nirmala Dewi said, the ABL 3x3 International Championship Cup is a valuable experience for the Indonesian team ahead of the 2021 SEA Games. This is certainly a good asset to face the biennial event.

"Don't be easily satisfied because the real struggle is in the SEA Games. Continue to improve your ability to target medals at the 2022 SEA Games," Nirmala said in a written statement, as quoted by Antara.

At the 2021 SEA Games, the Indonesian men's 3x3 basketball team got a gold medal target. They are expected to avenge their defeat to the Philippines at the 2019 SEA Games.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian women's 3x3 team only took third place. They lost to Louvre Indonesia with a score of 15-19 in the semifinals.
