Premier League Result: Arsenal Defeated 0-1 At Home To Southampton

JAKARTA - Arsenal failed to get full points again after losing 0-1 at the hands of Southampton in matchday 33 of the Premier League at St. Mary's Stadium on Saturday night WIB, according to the official English Premier League website, quoted by Antara.

The only goal in this match was scored by Jan Bednarek in the first half.

This was the Gunners' third straight defeat in the Premier League and made it difficult for them to finish in the top four of the Premier League. The north London club is in sixth place with 54 points from 31 matches.

While Southampton are in 12th place with 39 points.

The home team started well. They threatened through Romain Perraud's kick from outside the penalty box, but the direction of the ball still did not meet the target.

Arsenal responded in the 8th minute through Gabriel Martinelli's strike from the wing. His shot went into the bottom left corner of the net before being cleared by goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

Arsenal again threatened in the 16th minute. Martinelli's through ball was received by Bukayo Saka on the left, who fired a shot on goal. Unfortunately Forster can still secure the goal.

Southampton managed to score in the 44th minute. Starting from a corner kick, the ball was driven away by the Arsenal defense but was again controlled by the hosts.

In the 93rd minute, Saka stabbed in from the right and passed to Martinelli in front of the penalty box. Martinelli fired a hard shot that just shot over the goal.
