Former Assistant Says Johnny Depp Wasn't Rude To Amber Heard
JAKARTA - The trial of Johnny Depp with his ex-wife, Amber Heard continues. Those closest to them were also present to testify about their household.
Amber Heard's former assistant, Kate James was one of the witnesses in the trial. Heard was sued by Johnny Depp for $50 million after describing Depp as a symbol of domestic violence for a 2018 Washington Post article.
Amber Heard reversed the lawsuit by alleging Johnny Depp was violent 10 times in their relationship. When they separated in 2016, Heard claimed he had a scar on his face.
Kate James' testimony became evidence for Depp which was shown in court on Tuesday, April 12. Launching the Indian Express, the footage shows Kate James' statements during her time as assistant to Amber Heard from 2012 to 2015.
Kate said she had never seen Johnny Depp and Amber Heard fight or be violent. Instead, he admitted that he had been treated badly by his employer when he asked for a raise.
"She (Amber Heard) jumped off the chair and looked at my face closely, spat and called how dare I ask for a raise," said Kate James.
In addition to Kate James, Johnny Depp's personal doctor, David Kipper also testified that Depp had difficulty getting off drugs when he was still in touch with Heard.
"He (Johnny Depp) thought he couldn't do it. After we communicated, he came back,” said David Kipper.
On the other hand, Amber Heard said they had evidence that Heard had been physically, emotionally, verbally and even sexually abused by Depp. They say Depp's monster side will come out when he drinks alcohol and takes drugs.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met in the 2011 film The Rum Diary and broke up in May 2016. At that time Heard asked for protection due to violence but the matter was resolved and they officially divorced.
