Police Reveal Perpetrators Of BJB Bank Robbery, Work At CN Bank As Vice President Staff

JAKARTA - The police continue to investigate the case of the attempted robbery of the West Java and Banten Bank (BJB) Fatmawati branch, Cilandak, South Jakarta on April 5. It turned out that the culprit was a CN Bank employee.

This was stated directly by the South Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Budhi Herdi Susianto.

"Yes, it's true (a Cimb Niaga bank employee) finally confessed to him," said Budhi via text message, Friday, April 15.

Separately, the Head of the Cilandak Police, Kompol Multazam Lisendra said that BS worked as a staff of the Vice President (VP) at CN. However, for further explanation, he refused to answer.

"(How long did you work) please ask the bank, (the problem is) it has nothing to do with crime," he said.

The VOI team tried to contact CN Public Relations, Hanif. However, until this news was revealed, the parties concerned refused to provide information.

Previously reported, University of Indonesia criminologist, Josias Simon, asked the police to transparently reveal who the perpetrators of the attempted robbery of Bank BJB KCP Fatmawati were on 5 April.

He conveyed this so that issues related to the attempted robbery would not run wild among the public.

"It really has to be revealed, let alone viral in the public. And it must be completed, so that the public is not confused," said Josias when confirmed, Monday, April 11.

Josias revealed that the identity of the perpetrator did not affect the confidentiality of the bank institution itself (where the perpetrator worked), because the perpetrator was only a person who carried out a robbery with his own intention.

"I don't think there is a problem with banking secrecy, namely working with financial management. But for the crime or robbery, it must be revealed," said Josias.

"I think bank secrecy is different from the crime (attempted robbery)," he continued
