Tunjungan Plaza Surabaya Fire From AC Short Circuit XXI Cinema Not Sushi Tei

SURABAYA - Pakuwon Group management as the manager of Tunjungan Plaza Surabaya said the fire that occurred at TP 5 was due to a short circuit in the air conditioning circuit or the AC supplying the cinema.

"That around 17:00 to 17:30 WIB there was a fire at TP 5, the origin of the fire is suspected to be from the 10th floor of the rooftop area. The fire came from the AC circuit that supplies the XXI cinema," said Marketing Director of Pakuwon Group, Sutandi Purnomosidi, in Surabaya, as reported by Antara. , Thursday, April 14th.

The fire spread quickly because it passed through the aluminum composite (ACP) building TP 5 which then made the facade (outer side of the building) collapse to the tenants below it and the terrace.

"We made sure that the fire did not originate from the tenants in the mall. Because no hotspots were found that caused the fire," he said.

Sutandi admitted that there were indeed hotspots in the Kids Station area on the 4th floor, but not from the inside but as a result of the faade collapse which then spread.

He also ensured that no fire came from the Sushi Tei restaurant, because the mall was only affected by the fall of the ceiling due to the blackout process.

"There was no fire from inside. None of the tenants were affected by the fire, there was a fire from outside that affected the facade of the mall," he said, affirming.

Meanwhile, his party is grateful that no one was injured. As for the loss, he did not want to convey for certain reasons.

Until now, the crime scene (TKP) is being carried out by the Forensic Laboratory Team (Labfor) at the Surabaya Branch of the Police Headquarters and cleaning is being carried out on every floor.
