4 Basarnas Boats Dispatched To Search For 62 Years Old Missing In North Konawe River
SULTENG - The joint Basarnas team continues to search for Ismail, an elderly man who was reported missing on Wednesday, April 13. The 62-year-old man went missing in the Lalindu River in Lamonea Village, Wiwirano, North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi).
Head of the Kendari Basarnas Aris Sofingi said his party through the North Konawe SAR Alert Unit Rescue Team continued the search for victims on the second day.
"Earlier at 01.24 WITA this morning the rescue team arrived at the scene and coordinated with the family and carried out an assessment around the place where the victim was reported missing. At 02.00 WITA in the morning the joint SAR team temporarily stopped the search and resumed this morning at 06.30 WITA. ," he said in Kendari, Thursday, April 14, quoted from Antara.
Aris said the search for victims on the second day was carried out by dividing into two teams, where team 1 using a community long boat and a Basarnas rubber boat conducted a search around the last location the victim was reported to be up to one kilometer to the south.
"Then team 2 using three long boats belonging to the community conducted a one-kilometer search north of the last location where the victim was reported missing," he said.
The search for the victim, who is a resident of Lamonea Village, Wiwirano District, North Konawe involves the North Konawe SAR Alert Unit Rescue Team, Babinsa Wiwirano, the surrounding community and the victim's family.
The victim reportedly went to his garden with a colleague on Wednesday, April 13, at around 13.00 WITA. However, when the victim's colleague returned at around 17.34 WITA, the victim's colleague did not find Ismail's whereabouts.
"The victim's colleague only found Ismail's clothes on the banks of the Lalindu River, a search has been carried out by the family and the local community, but until this information was received with no results," he said.
