National Police Chief General Sigit Names 23 Toll Gate Points Prone To Congestion During Eid Al-Fitr 2022 Homecoming

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo predicts 23 toll gates will become congestion-prone points during the 2022 Eid homecoming flow. All of them are located on the Trans Java toll road.

"There are 23 toll gates that are prone to overcrowding," Listyo said during a cross-sector coordination meeting at the National Police Headquarters, Thursday, April 14.

Based on the available data, the hotspots for congestion are in the areas of Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, and East Java.

Listyo also gave an example, one of the points prone to congestion is on the Jakarta-Merak KM 26 Toll Road. Because at that point there is a narrowing of the road.

"These are potential slowdowns and also potential traffic jams that we have to unravel," he said.

On the other hand, the police chief also said that the peak of congestion would occur on April 28. However, it is predicted that the accumulation of vehicles will get worse on April 29 and 30.

"Then on D-1 it will still be crowded but certainly not as crowded as on the 29th and 30th (April)," said Listyo. Therefore, the Korlantas ranks were asked to maximize guarding and implement a congestion-reducing scheme at that point.

"I hope this is all prepared so that we can really provide convenience to the community when they are going to go home," said Listyo.

Previously, the Korlantas Polri predicted that the peak of the 2022 Eid homecoming flow would occur on April 29 and 30. As for the return flow a week later or 7 and 8 May.

With the prediction of the peak flow of going back and forth, the Korlantas Polri has also prepared a scheme to anticipate the density of vehicles.

In fact, the prepared anticipation scheme is divided into several phases. Ranging from normal to severe traffic jams.
