Suralaya Fishermen Happy To Receive Fishing Equipment From PLTU USC Jawa 9&10 Manager
JAKARTA - The changing weather and high waves have become a frightening specter for fishermen to go to the sea. As a result, the fishermen's life becomes rather difficult because they cannot catch fish in the wide sea.
Therefore, the provision of fishing rods by PT Indo Raya Tenaga (IRT) as the manager of PLTU (Electric Steam Power Plant) USC Jawa 9&10, is highly appreciated by fishermen in Suralaya, Pulomerak District, Cilegon City.
Chairman of the All Indonesian Fishermen Association (HNSI) Suralaya Fishermen Association, Rabudin, Tuesday, April 12, said that the aid of fishing rods can clearly help fishermen to have complete fishing gear,
"Currently the conditions at sea are strong winds. Many fishermen do not go to sea, so many fishermen are leaning their boats at this Suralaya fishing base. The provision of fishing rods is clearly very helpful", said Rebudin after receiving the help of fishing rods handed over by the management of IRT who also manages a power plant with environmentally friendly technology, PLTU USC Jawa 9&10.
Rebudin said that his party was grateful to PT IRT who often helped fishermen in Suralaya.
"With the amount of assistance available, then we will distribute it to fishermen", said Rebudin.
Meanwhile, General Manager of PT IRT, Steve Andrianto, said that the fishing community is a community whose existence coincides with the Jawa 9&10 Project, so of course, we pay attention to the lives of fishermen who are around the power plant.
"PT Indo Raya Tenaga (IRT) continuously supports fishermen's activities, in the form of providing facilities for fishing, including providing hooks", explained Steve.
Suralaya Association fishing base itself was built by PT IRT some time ago. This fishing base was built with a width of 57 meters and a length of 215 meters.
The 1.3-hectare port pool will be able to accommodate as many as 100 fishing boats. At the same time as the construction of a fishing base, the manager of the PLTU USC Jawa 9&10 also built a mosque and helped several schools in a nearby location.
The existence of this fishing base has also been highlighted by the Council of Banten Province. The Council assessed that the relocation of fishermen and the attention to them by the management of the PLTU USC Jawa 9&10 was very good.
The construction of fishing bases and various supporting facilities for them should be followed by other industries in the same area, in Banten Province. The aspect of harmony with the environment was also very well-considered and managed.
This was stated by Banten Regional House of Representatives Commission IV, Ida Rosida Lutfi, and Dede Rohana when they visited the ultra-supercritical power plant with a capacity of 1000×2 MW, which was under construction some time ago.

Dede Rohana who is also a member of the National Mandate Party (F-PAN) faction said that from his monitoring activities at the fishing base in Suralaya, his party found several facts that were very well done by PT IRT.
"It's good to be made like that. If I see from the results of the visit earlier, fishermen don't feel the impact of eviction for the benefit of the PLTU USC Jawa 9&10 project, so it's better", said Dede, at the Suralaya fishing base some time ago.
Help orphans
Apart from sharing with fishermen, PT IRT also shares with orphans and the poor. At the beginning of Ramadan, joint prayer and donations for orphans were held at the Raudhatul Jannah Mosque, Suralaya.
Present on the occasion were people from Suralaya, Lebak Gede, and Saliran. On this occasion, there were Pulomerak community leaders, Ustad Unang, who led the prayer together, and several employees of PT IRT.
"Hopefully by giving charity, providing compensation to orphans and the poor, PT IRT in carrying out the work can run well and smoothly, and be kept away from danger", he said.
Meanwhile, Steve Adrianto explained that his party always stays in touch with the community. The presence of PLTU USC Jawa 9&10 is also actually intended to provide benefits for residents.
"This social service routine is an agenda carried out by PT IRT, which was carried out in previous years before the holy month of Ramadan", he explained.
