Police Investigate Case Of Car Club Closing Soroja Bandung Toll Road

BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police (Polda) is investigating the case of a car club suspected of being in groups or convoys by closing the Soreang-Pasirkoja (Soroja) Toll Road section, Bandung Regency.

The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Ibrahim Tompo, said that at this time the police had ticketed the chairman of the club. However, he said, it is possible for criminal elements to be applied in the case of closing the toll road.

"What these clubs have done has violated public order, we are investigating the extent of the criminal elements," Ibrahim said in Bandung as reported by Antara, Tuesday, April 12.

It is suspected that the closing incident occurred on March 12, 2022. However, the case emerged after the video upload of the toll road closure was spread on social media.

Prior to the posting on social media, according to Ibrahim, police officers from the West Java Regional Police PJR had summoned a number of members of the car club for clarification.

"So far it is according to the capacity of PJR, only within the traffic limit, the sanction is only a ticket," he said.

The West Java Regional Police assessed that the action carried out by the car club disturbed public order. The reason is that the closure of the toll road has made traffic flow stagnate.

From the video footage spread on social media, the vehicle that closed the Soroja Toll Road was suspected to be a Honda Brio type car club. The cars were seen queuing up on the Soroja Toll Road to cover the road.
