The Army Chief Of Staff's Entourage Car Sitting In An Accident That Caused A Casualty, Allegedly The Driver Was Sleepy

JAKARTA - A group of Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Dudung Abdurachman had a car accident during a work visit with the agenda of reviewing soldiers at the Battalion Battalion 123/RW Task Force in Sota, Merauke, Papua.

The head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad) Brigadier General Tatang Subarna said that the provisional suspicion that the cause of the accident was the driver was sleepy.

"It is suspected that the driver fell asleep and left the road, and when he tried to return to the road, the car lost its balance and rolled over," Tatang told reporters, Tuesday, April 12.

However, it is certain that the Army Chief of Staff Dudung was not in the same car as the vehicle involved in the accident.

Tatang said this accident resulted in the death of 1 TNI member. "The accident resulted in 1 TNI member on behalf of Lt. Cpm I Kadek Suhardiyana," he said.

In addition, 3 journalists were also injured. Tatang said that currently the victims of the accident were being taken to the hospital.

"Currently the victims have been evacuated to the Navy Hospital, Merauke," said Tatang.
