Regarding The Discourse On Removing KJP Students Participate In The April 11th Demo, Deputy Governor Of DKI Answers This

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria responded to the discourse on the possibility of revoking the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) for students who took part in demonstrations in front of the DPR building and the Horse Statue area on Monday, April 11.

It is known that the discourse on the revocation of the KJP for students to take part in demonstrations was launched by the DKI Jakarta Education Office during the #ReformasiDikorupsi action in 2019. However, the plan was cancelled.

Meanwhile, at this time, Riza admitted that his party was still evaluating the impact of students' involvement in yesterday's demonstration.

Until now, Riza emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government has not planned to impose sanctions on the revocation of KJP to these students. Moreover, the DKI Provincial Government has not yet received definite data regarding which Jakarta students were involved in the action.

"Later we will evaluate whether it is deemed necessary or not given first, yes. We will evaluate its involvement, its role. We look at the Metro Police, the students are from Jakarta or outside Jakarta. So, don't rush to give sanctions. We must be wise, " said Riza at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, April 12.

In fact, Riza said the DKI Provincial Government had asked teachers in every school to ask parents of students to keep their children from participating in the demonstration.

"We have asked students not to take part in the demonstration. Let their fellow students, workers, others focus on education and school. Regarding sanctions, we will evaluate what sanctions will be given to students who took part in yesterday's demonstration," he explained.

Meanwhile, yesterday the East Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar admitted that the East Jakarta City Government was considering revoking the KJP for East Jakarta students who participated in the April 11 student demonstrations.

"I think we will think about it later (revocation of KJP) because yesterday, we just talked about anticipation, not sanctions," said Anwar.
