Eight Hotspots Detected In East Kalimantan, BMKG Sends Warnings To Each District

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) through a station in Balikpapan City detected eight "hotspots" spread over three districts in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) Province.

"The eight 'hotspots' were detected from today's monitoring results at 01.00-17.00 WITA and we immediately conveyed them to their respective districts," said Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman (SAMS) Sepinggan BMKG Balikpapan Class I Station Forecaster Heni Herlina in Balikpapan, Saturday.

The parties who were immediately informed about the existence of these "hotspots" were especially the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in each region, so that they could take further action to deal with them.

The handling by related parties can be seen from the disappearance of four "hotspots" detected in two districts on Friday (8/4), namely in Berau and Kutai Kartanegara districts in different locations from today.

Meanwhile, the three regencies that detected eight hotspots today are Paser Regency, which has three hotspots, Kutai Kartanegara Regency has one hotspot, and East Kutai Regency has four hotspots.

The details are that the "hotspots" in Paser Regency are spread over two sub-districts, namely one "hotspot" in Kuaro District with a medium confidence level located at the coordinates of 116.1127 longitude-1.8335 latitude.

Then there are two "hotspots" in Muara Samu District, both of which have a medium confidence level, namely at coordinates 115.8847 longitude -2.0103 latitude and coordinates 115.8885 longitude-2.0097 latitude.

One hot spot observed in Kutai Kartanegara Regency is in Muara Kaman District which has a medium level of confidence, at coordinates 116.7548 longitude-0.1411 latitude.

Then four "hotspots" in East Kutai Regency are spread over three sub-districts, all of which have a medium level of confidence, namely one "hotspot" in Batu Ampar District with coordinates 116.8605 longitude-0.6757 latitude.

"Next is one hotspot in Kaubun District with coordinates 117.6802 longitude-1.1603 latitude, two hotspots in Rantau Pulung District at coordinates 117.2646 longitude-0.5581 latitude and 117.0995 longitude-0.6992 latitude," said Heni.
