Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office Completes 25 Cases In Restorative Justice, From Domestic Violence Cases To Theft

BENGKULU - The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) prioritizes the case process in a restorative justice manner. To date, 25 cases handled by the state attorney's office in the Bengkulu District Attorney's Office have received restorative justice.

The Head of the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office, Heri Germany, said that the 25 cases were terminated, such as cases of theft, molestation, and domestic violence (KDRT). Bengkulu has implemented 25 cases and 6 of them were proposed within a month of me serving as the head of the Bengkulu high prosecutor's office," said Heri in Bengkulu, Wednesday, April 6, as reported by Antara. He stated that not all cases can be carried out or the termination of prosecution through restorative justice can be carried out, because there are several considerations.

Heri said that the termination of the claim could be carried out with restorative justice if the case was considered light and agreed by both parties and received a good response from the community.

It is known that in 2021 the High Prosecutor's Office has submitted 15 cases of restorative justice to Jampidum and has been approved. Then in 2022, from January to April there have been 10 cases that have succeeded in restorative justice or the case was terminated by the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office. Central Bengkulu District Attorney's Office and a fraud case in the Kaur District Attorney's Office.
