Former Director Of PDAM Tulungagung Charged With 5 Years In Prison

TULUNGAGUNG - The Public Prosecutor of the Tulungagung District Attorney's Office demanded that the former Director of PDAM Tulungagung Haryono be sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Haryono is believed by prosecutors to have committed corruption in the pipeline project in the 2016-2018 Low-Income Community (MBR) program. The prosecution read out the demands in the prosecution hearing which was held on Tuesday.

In addition to the corporal punishment, the defendant Haryono is also required to pay a fine of Rp. 200 million, a subsidiary of eight months in prison.

The defendant was also demanded to return the state loss amounting to Rp478,295,157 which was only returned Rp120 million.

"If after being declared legally binding, and the defendant has not been able to return it, the defendant's assets are confiscated for auction," said the prosecutor, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 5.

Currently, the defendant Haryono has been detained at the Surabaya High Prosecutor's Detention Center since December 2021. The next trial will be held on Tuesday (12/4), with the agenda of reading the plea.
