Three Days, 128 Vehicles Penalized For Violating The Speed Limit
JAKARTA - The electronic ticketing scheme or E-TLE for violations of the maximum speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour has been implemented since April 1. Based on three days of prosecution data, a total of 128 vehicles violated the law.
"In the last three days, 128 people have been ticketed using speed limit cameras," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Tuesday, April 5.
The violators have been sent a ticket and evidence. They are fined with a fine of Rp. 500 thousand.
However, Sambodo was reluctant to elaborate when he was asked whether there was a 'god' plate among the hundreds of violators.
It can only be emphasized that all vehicles using special number plates will also be dealt with. Thus, law enforcement related to traffic will be evenly distributed.
"All vehicles are valid, there are no god plates, all of them. Don't you want RFS, what do you want RFD to do, do we have the database for this vehicle, how many original plates do we send, we will send it to you," said Sambodo.
Previously, the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya would apply speed limit regulations on five toll roads. Supervision of this rule also uses E-TLE (Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement) cameras.
"Related to taking action or law enforcement by using E-TLE cameras on toll roads," said Sambodo.
The five toll roads to which the regulation will apply include the Jakarta-Cikampek upper or Muhammed Bin Zayed and lower lanes. Then, the Sudiatmo toll road towards the airport, the inner city toll road, and the Kunciran-Cengkareng toll road.
In this speed limit regulation, action will be taken against vehicles traveling more than 100 km per hour.
The application of this rule is still in the socialization stage. However, the police will still send a proof of violation to the violator.
