COVID-19 Hits Palu City Government Loosens Social Activities During Ramadan
PALU - The Palu City Government stated that social activities were slowly being relaxed because the COVID-19 case in the capital city of Central Sulawesi Province was getting more and more sloping as acceleration and control were intensively implemented. "Until now the decline in cases has shown good progress, we are trying to keep the number of cases down to the lowest point, even to zero," said Palu Mayor Hadianto Rasyid in Palu, Tuesday, April 5. In line with the government's efforts to reduce the number of cases, residents also asked to continue to follow the health protocols (prokes) by applying the 5M method (wearing masks, washing hands with soap, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds and reducing mobility).
According to him, as the government's target is that COVID-19 is predicted to end in April 2022, so that during the Holy Month of Ramadan 1443 Hijri, social activities are expected to run normally as before the pandemic.
"Hopefully the pandemic will end quickly. After a long period of tightened society, we continue to take steps to restore the affected sectors. On the other hand, accelerating vaccination is still a priority," Hadianto said as quoted by Antara.
Temporary data shows that the vaccination achievement of Palu City was 96.5 percent or 256,116 people for the first dose, then the second dose of vaccination was 69.82 percent or 185,334 people and booster vaccination was 9.2 percent or 24,454 people from the target target of 265,462 people.
Referring to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs number 19 of 2022, he said, the capital city of Central Sulawesi is currently still at level 3 of the implementation of community activity restrictions (PPKM), but in terms of the aspect of vaccination achievements, Palu City is at 96.5 percent.
He added, on the other hand, from the data on handling and monitoring the spread of COVID-19 on Monday (4/4) by the local task force team, there are currently 49 active cases in Palu City, compared to 88 in the last four days.
"We hope that all elements of society can support the government's steps to suppress the pandemic, one of which is getting used to a clean and healthy lifestyle," said Hadianto.
