Garut Regent Bans Civil Servants From Holding Bukber In Restaurants: Residents, Go Ahead
JAKARTA - Garut Regent, Rudy Gunawan, conveyed the prohibition for state civil apparatus (ASN) for every district government agency to hold breaking fast in restaurants during Ramadan. Sanctions will be imposed on violators.
"Not in restaurants. I will act in restaurants. I said earlier, ordinary people go ahead. But for ASN, it is not allowed for services to open together in restaurants," said Rudy, Monday, April 4, quoted from Antara.
Currently Garut Regency is still a COVID-19 pandemic and the condition of the community still needs attention to grow the economy after two years of being battered by the deadly virus outbreak.
The regent is worried that iftar activities held by ASN are considered extravagant, so it needs to be prevented by banning iftar together in restaurants.
"If I hold an activity just for fun, I will follow it, with the Head of the Section with the Head of Section (section head) I will act," he asserted.
He suggested that ASN in the Garut Regency Government who wanted to break the fast together should be carried out in villages where the area is difficult and requires efforts to boost the economy.
In addition, he said, holding iftar by involving orphans, for example an agency held an event by bringing orphans to a restaurant.
"If you want to break the fast together with orphans, if you bring orphans you can, invite them from time to time, if for example, which department wants to open with orphans in Kentucky (KFC) where is it okay," he said.
