Investigating The Cause Of 6 Deaths In A Deadly Accident On The Coastal Path, Police Use 3D Laser Scanning

JAKARTA - Head of Sidik Laka Subditlaka Ditgakkum Korlantas Polri AKBP Tri Yulianto said his party used 3D laser scanning to determine the cause of a traffic accident on the North Coast Line (Pantura) Cirebon, West Java, which resulted in six deaths.

"We use 3D laser scanning (to process the crime scene in the case of a fatal accident)," said AKBP Tri while examining the crime scene (TKP) of the deadly accident in Cirebon, Antara, Monday, April 4.

According to him, the use of this tool is an effort to assist investigators in analyzing traffic accident cases. Moreover, everyone who was in the Toyota Avanza G 1031 CC minibus was declared dead.

The use of the tool can also provide clues as to whether the accident was caused by human, vehicle, road or environmental factors, all of which can be found out.

"The aim is to assist investigators in analyzing the causes of accidents, both from human factors, vehicles, roads, and the environment," he said.

However, Tri has not provided a definite explanation of the cause of the accident, because according to him, the case is still in the process of being investigated first.

He also can't predict the speed of the minibus when the accident occurs, but what is certain is that the vehicle's gear is at the highest.

"For the fifth gear. But we can't say how fast it is, because it has to be investigated first," he said.
