Admit Manchester United Are Not Seeded In The Top 4, Rangnick: I'm Not A Psychic, I Don't Know Where This Team Will Be Next Season
JAKARTA - Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick admits his team are currently unseeded in the race for the top four of the Premier League after being held to a 1-1 draw by Leicester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The score draw, which was later followed by wins for West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur the day before, made United slip and drop to seventh in the standings.
"It doesn't help at all to look at the table every weekend and speculate or anticipate what might happen, how many points we might need," Rangnick told reporters.
"Of course, at the moment we are not seeded for the top four."
"I'm not a psychic, so I don't know where this team will be next season. For us, it's my job, our job ... to finish the season on the highest and best possible note."
United on 51 points are now behind Tottenham (54), Arsenal (54) and West Ham (51) with eight games remaining in their season.
United are next scheduled to travel to Goodison Park to face Everton and Rangnick is adamant that for now their focus is only on picking up the full three points, without complicating the race for the top four.
"The season is not over yet. We still have eight games to play and I think it is the right time to draw conclusions and take the right steps for next season," he said.
"Now, it's all about how we can get the three points against Everton," concluded Rangnick.
