Bank Mandiri Intensively Expands Financial Inclusion Through Agent Partners

JAKARTA - Bank Mandiri is said to continue to encourage increased financial inclusion and literacy in the community through the empowerment of Mandiri Agen partners.

Bank Mandiri SEVP Micro & Consumer Finance Josephus K. Triprakoso said that through these agent partners, the public can obtain various financial services, ranging from account opening, cash withdrawal and deposit transactions, credit payments, and social assistance programs.

"We consistently support increasing financial inclusion and literacy which is in line with one of the priority agendas of the G20 Presidency of Indonesia this year," he said in an official statement, Monday, April 4.

According to Josephus, achieving these targets can further support steps to create a more sustainable financial sector.

"The presence of agent partners has increasingly opened up public financial access, especially for those who are not yet bankable," he said.

Furthermore, Josephus also said that the company is aiming for business growth and development through referrals for micro credit distribution. He said, the performance of agent partners until February 2022 recorded a third party fund (DPK) of IDR 12 trillion from 1.8 million customers.

"The number of transactions through our agents reached 6.3 million transactions with a valuation of Rp. 7.1 trillion," he said.

For information, the state-owned bank with the stock code of BMRI is currently trying to meet the growth target of agent partners of 20 percent from the current number of 100,000 agents.

In practice in the field, Bank Mandiri then organized a number of reward programs for agents to spur performance in order to provide the best service and wider financial reach.

"In the future, Bank Mandiri through partner agents takes the initiative to increase the use of digital service channels to further encourage financial inclusion in Indonesia to provide a comfortable and comprehensive experience, integrate various financial services, and ultimately encourage the creation of an open ecosystem," concluded Josephus.
