Won Four Grammy Awards, Jon Batiste Is Grateful

JAKARTA - Jon Batiste won four awards at the 2022 Grammy Awards which was held in Las Vegas, Sunday, April 3 local time. The musician who received 11 nominations took home the best video clip award for Freedom.

Jon Batiste's nominations cover several genres including R&B, jazz, American roots music, classical, and music videos.

"I am so grateful for the gift God has given me and the ability to share it for the love of humanity," Batiste said on stage as he accepted the award.

While Cry from Batiste won best American roots performance and American roots song. The musician who led the band on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was also awarded the best score soundtrack for visual media, for composing and arranging some of the music in the Pixar film Soul.

The award for Batiste was announced ahead of the Grammy's main broadcast, which will air at 8 p.m. local time.

Quoted from ANTARA, this prestigious event in the music world was postponed after it was scheduled to be held in January due to the COVID-19 spike, the venue was moved from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. The event is expected to attract thousands of people, in contrast to last year's more modest event.
